Silver Lake Sand Dunes holds their very popular Apple BBQ Cook-Off Festival in the business district in mid-September. Here is a schedule of this year's events:Friday, September 10
- King of the Dunes Backyard BBQ Amateur Competition, 10am-5pm.
- Food Vendors on the Festival Grounds, 3pm-8:30pm.
- 1st Curve Band, 5:30pm-9pm, Festival State.
Saturday, September 11
- Apple Pie Contest, 8am-10am.
- Kid's BBQ Cook-Off, 9:30-11am.
- Classic Vehicle & Dune Buggy Show, 10am-4:30pm.
- Little Point Sable Lighthouse Tours, 10am-5pm.
- Farm Fresh Apples, Produce & Homemade Crafts, 10am-5:30pm.
- LIve Entertainment, 10am-3pm, Festival Stage.
- Children's Activities, 10am-6pm.
- Food Vendors, 10am-9pm, Festival Grounds.
- Kids Q Awards, 11:30am.
- Rib & Apple Pie Eating Contests, 1pm.
